The only issue with 3 letter acronyms is you can't search for them here. It errors out.

Hey, is there a way we can start differentiating raffle-style LIFs from the others? Call it a RIF or something like that? Is this dumb?

Seems like a long overdue improvement to me. These raffle-type lists are categorically different from "answer some random ass trivia to win beer" lifs, and should be taxonomically distinguished.

Agreed. Perhaps "Charity It Forward" denoting that the donations will go to some type of charity?

The only problem I can see with that is the tendancy to abbreviate. It'll be listed as CIF, as I recall, has been used from time to time as Chalice-it-Forward (a glassware bif).

True, forgot about that, although it does harken to the whole BCS vs. BCBS debate. I haven't seen a Chalice it Forward since forever. The only place I have ever seen that term is in the Alewatcher compendium and collected works vol. 1

"Taxonomically" is a word that needs to be used more often.

How about DIF (Donate it Forward)?

I've seen it used a few times, the OP was asked basically immediately what the hell CIF meant. So clearly not that common, but some people know/use it...

My favorite acronym that needs to be used more: DONG. Draft-only. No Growlers.

Edit: i see Gene did that in the first post. It bears repeating. I've had a few DONGs in my time...

Per the older thread about Yellow Bus, what's VSB?
