Congrats man!! And enjoy your trip to Charlotte...
Thanks! I'm looking forward to every part of it except the time I have to spend in hell (IKEA).
Heading to Asheboro this weekend...any kid friendly breweries in town or along the way that I should stop at for a growler fill or two? I feel like I remember hearing the Concord area come up at least once or twice. Food w/ gluten free options help convince the wife too...so that would be a plus...
Looking for food recs in Charlotte if anyone has any. Thanks!
Hey guys we've got a new beer fb group in charlotte that has been gaining steam. Much less BS than the "metro" one. Its called "The Official Charlotte Craft Beer Forum", and its run by a group of local folks. Pretty good stuff so far. The main point is to keep everyone updated on releases, when things hit the shelf, and general CLT beer discussion. If you're in the charlotte area, concord, rock hill, etc.. then come join us! Not much trading, more just for local Charlotte stuff.
The Raosting Company has fantastic and somewhat wholesome chicken dishes, one of my biggest go-tos. Ru Sans and Nikkos are good for sushi, Fud at Salud has great takes on waffle sandwiches, meatball subs, cool grilled sanwiches, etc.. They are also in the same building as salud, my go-to bottle shop. If you're looking for hole on the wall mexican, Miguels is really the only choice, and then there are all kinds of hip offerings in noda and plaza midwood area. In noda, jack beagles for late night hot dogs and mac n cheese, or growlers pour house for house made sausages and oyster shots (they're actually really good). Those are just a few.
For BBQ, do saucemans.
hope this helps
Can't find this page by searching on FB, fyi
Yea Its secret as of today, but if you're in the charlotte or area or within an hour pm me.
Really enjoyed Wooden Robot as well as the Korean bbq joint down the street from it. Also was able to hit up Legion, Juicy Jay was probably my favorite beer of the weekend.
Been singing juicy jays praises for a while now
You mean you're not into a thread of chugging videos? Send me the details on this new group
What do you guys think of High Branch in Concord?
I've not been yet, but keep hearing good things. Does anyone know if their beers get distributed outside of their taproom?
I don't think they do, although they made a BA saison that might have gotten some district.
They are canning and releasing their double IPA on Friday. I'll be driving through Concord for work and am thinking about grabbing some.
Don't know if there is much or any left but that Triple C Chocolate Covered Pretzel Stout with Coconut is damn good
2plums4one would also like details on the new Charlotte FB group. Thanks!
Really really good. Ninja Slippers, the dark saison, and the IPAs are all worth the trip. Also Blueberry Hill but that's bottle only.
