Rather than continuing to litter a little noise here and there around the site, I'd just make one shameless self-promotion of my debut album (well, EP) if it's cool with Gene and everyone.

Hi. I'm Dave Hughes. I came over to TB because of the ban hammer. Naturally, I flock with the black sheep, so I wanted to know more about this rogue website. I was inspired that a bunch of people who created the change they seeked. I myself was not banned when I started, but more intrigued by the renegade nature. Then my ban came. Thank goodness.

This community feels important to me, as does the 20 minutes of sound I put together. I hope you get a chance to consume Keep Doing with the attention and open-mindedness you might give a new beer you are curious to try. If I come to your west coast city next year to play an acoustic set, I hope you meet me before or after for a beer.

OK, that's all. I'll see you all over in the worst thread on this site. Keep doing, amigos.

Those looking for my music, I'm not Australian, Scotch, or Christian. Just a dude with a super common name.

I like the diversity of songs. getting some zappa, wilco, pedro the lion, gong, the kinks, and bishop allen, all mixed up and swirling around some punk foundations with some floyd thrown on top.

It's definitely an unapologetic echo of my influences, which are many. It's always interesting to hear whom others hear in it. The production is definitely Floyd inspired. Of whom you listed here, I can definitely hear Tweedy's influence on the vocals now that you mention it. I hear in this EP, early Broken Social Scene, Syd Barret, early Modest Mouse, Animal Collective, Battles, Xiu Xiu, Sleeping States, and the Microphones. And probably Gilmour on some of the guitar melodies. So yeah, no getting around the Floyd factor.

Oh, and ISIS and Earth. I hear both of them - and pretty much only them - in one track. The bands, not the terrorist group or the thing I'm gonna need to come back down to soon.

    Listened and purchased on Amazon.

For someone that usually listens to rap/hip hop, it is definitely a change of pace. However, I really enjoyed it. Calmed me down during a stressful work day.

You're the man MrDave. Keep Doing!
