Great way to celebrate!
Soloing this bad boy after finishing and delivering my thesis. After 11 years of not being able to finish a study it's finally done!! Well worth celebrating on a Monday night!

Congrats! What's your field?

Check out Forbidden Root, for some reason it's been under the radar but it's by far my favorite brewery in Chicago. They also just released their Fernet beer which is mind-blowingly delicious.
At Forbidden Root now, with a flight

No Fernet beer :( Everything is pretty good though. Thanks for the recommendation

Had an endoscopy this morning, and the discharge instructions said no alcohol for 24 hours. Not sure if it's because of the anesthesia, because my esophagus may be sensitive, or both. Either way, I'm calling it good at 7 hours. This will be my only beer today though. The only reason I'm getting this one in is because my wife is napping. Otherwise, I'd be either a). not drinking today, or b). taking endless amounts of **** for drinking this.

TL;DR: I probably shouldn't be drinking this.

Try to go to Lula Cafe for breakfast (or any meal, really) while you're in town. Same 'hood as Revolution. Amazing food & usually a solid beer list (but it's all about the food there). They're closed Tuesdays, FYI.

My wife the endoscopy nurse says it's because of the anesthesia. You technically still have narcotics in your system, up to 12 hours on average, if you were administered fentenyl and versed.

Birthday beer for me. I have no true idea how old this one is, but my estimate on the light red/orange cap without marking and where I bought it is 2008 - 2015. Taste is great, somewhere close to where I prefer it, and my guess based on aroma and a few sips is that it's around a 2010.
