It was very infected...
Edit: had Octomore H&V a few years ago. Amazing!
ALSO, i don't normally do this, but i just put on cask of Fyne Ales Maverick best bitter at Anker and you guys seriously need to come drink this. I'm hyper pissed i gotta run to the airport tonight i just wanna sit down and do that myself.
It was.... Very not good. Mountain of paperwork followed after that fiasco. It's currently in semi-permanent blocked status.
around here Binny's is a lawn care service
always have to do a double take when i read that someone bought beer/waited on line at Binny's
was at the local this afternoon and grabbed Navaja (it was out last time). debated Gone Away but my experience with Daisy Cutter and the dishwater comment about Gone Away scared me off.
*sigh* back to the store
Half Acre has a $20 deal for a burrito and 4-pack.
(sorry beeraficionado but I did run to brewpub for VSOJ and a delicious sandwich a hot minute ago)
Don't apologize, is that every day? I might head there for lunch and grab some Pony
I should have clarified, the beer isn't "bad" it just seems really different from how I remember it. Every can I've tried from this year has been significantly more malty and the hop character is a lot more subdued. It's definitely still drinkable, just not what I expect from Half Acre since they're usually bone dry and crisp.
Killer scotch barrel imperial stout:
I have no idea. I typed in my address on that fancy app and they were the first place to pop up.
Going out on Saturday for my birthday. Was planning on the Publican for some Lambic Doux. But may just have to do both for some of that cask. Is Anker closed between 2 and 3:30 or just no food service?
I like Gone Away and it's usually a solid choice no matter where you are. With that being said as long as you have Saison Dupont on draft or Orval bottles for like a $1 more I don't think I'll be ordering a Gone Away any time soon.
While not particularly malty, Gone Away has always been a more traditional IPA with regards to the dryness. Vallejo is the bone-dry hop assault that you want in the summer. Gone away has always had a touch more sweetness and body.
In my Gone Away experience this winter, I have been pleased in general with maybe one 4-pack that was not up to my expectations.
I don't know how much talk there has been about Flesk on here, but I'm pulling for their upgrade. I've had a couple beers and they weren't bad.
Pick this up local?
happy birthday, gb
may none of that beer & good food go to your impossibly slender waistline
vav This cask bitter you put on at Anker is fucking outstanding. Well done, sir...
Walked over to Hop Cat with the kids & some neighbors. Had some decent-but-unexciting food, and Dovetail Rauchbier, Middle Brow Low, and Odell Friek.
I've only been their twice, but their draft selection is quite decent.
