Jitterbug turned out really well, great pinkish color and more sour than most of their wilds.
Anyone hit up this weekend's release? How was the mezcal sour?
Going to be visiting for the first time Saturday, staying in Asheville Fri-Tuesday. Hope they still have something to go to bring back
Don't hold me to it, but I'll bet they still at least have Bloody Butcher by then. Which is one of their absolute best beers IMO, particularly if you like saisons.
If you're going to be in town that long I highly recommend going out to Zebulon Artisan Ales in Weaverville also. It's not far from Asheville at all.
Yep, BB is up there with some of the best grisettes I've had, HF, SP etc..
Anyone here win a lotto spot that might be interested in going halfsies with me on Powder Keg Underground...holler at a dude.
Anyone heading up for tomorrow's release?
Bottles still available apparently.
haha, nice avatar. If they are available tomorrow I may be able to go after work. pm me if you have a list FT and we can work something out. Looking for mostly mead, lambic, and BW.
Sure thing man, plenty of cuve rene to be had here. sometime cuvee rene kriek too. Also girardin but extremely expensive.
Curious as to why this is funny.
You don't find the NC custom of waiting in line for beer that is still available the next day humorous?
That and you can't be the cool kids if you don't sell out on release day.
ok gotcha, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Not sure I would call it a custom, but to each their own I guess. FF and WW don't sell out on some of their releases for different reasons. FF has lost a lot of loyal customers though infection, how they've dealt with lotteries, zwanze, and their membership, and WW seems to just be a price vs quality issue. Heist sells out of everything they release instantly, and that's really the only one in NC I would wait for at this point, other than Olde hickory Barleywines like App walker and Blendy 1.
I'd also add that the people who line up for beers available the next day are kind of a close group of friends at this point, and we just like doing it for the bottle shares and good times. Nobody trades high for NC beer anyway right haha.
Yes I'm sure no one in any other state has ever done this.
