Going to Fenway1 and Citi as of now. May add others...
Interesting - continuing the fake news that the 5/8/77 show actually happened, eh?
Couldn't make it through checkout before the site crashed.
That's kinda crazy that this crashed Dead.net.
The box will be available for purchase in FLAC and ALAC on the release day, and the 5/8/77 CD isn't limited. Maybe it's all the people buying the LPs of 5/8/77?
I am one of the responsible parties then
Figures. I on the other had got my order confirmation (box set only) long before the site crashed.
I got the vinyl no problem. Apparently I was fortunate it seems.
FYI for those wanting just the 5/8/77 show cd or vinyl you can pre-order via amazon.
Dead.net is back up
From what I have heard it is still a complete nightmare. Buddy has been trying to buy the cd box set for over two hours and cannot get order to complete.
Im far out of the loop. What is all this commotion about?
New May 77 box set announced yesterday, based on tapes recently returned to the GD Archive with the help of Rob Eaton.
Includes 5/8/77 Cornell, which may or may not have actually happened.
I see. And now those betty boards that were found in the random storage auction locker a year or so back- what's the state / accessibility of those currently?
They're all in the Dead Archive from what Dave Lemieux says.
Last year's 78 box set (including Red Rocks) was from those tapes as I recall. Maybe DAP20 and/or DAP21.
A friend of mine "in the know" heard advance copies of these and they supposedly (somehow?) sound better than the already righteous boards out there readily available. I thought the run already sounded pretty fucking great so much excite.
Besides some of the early 70's stuff and Brent-era stuff this is my favorite run so definitely half mast here.
I love the version of 5/8/77 that I have, but really looking forward to Norman's version.
Putting a fuck it tag on the rest of the day now. Dabs and the Dead.
Let's fuck some shit up.
Will never forget this opener. Saw a LOT of shows over the years but it was obvious from Jerry's aggression this was going to be a hell of a show.
