Is b1 50N really that rare?

I dunno if it's rare. know plenty of people with them, but its magical so people don't want to give them up.

    Lambic.info doesn't give a bottle count for b1.

For batch 2 (2012) it says there were 8 barrels produced. And I see 1,147 unique checkins on Untappd.

But only 134 checkins for 50n b1. Was it a single barrel? With like 10 checkins a year there can't be many around.

It was released before Untappd was a thing though.

Did that much 2010 Zwanze go into the wild? Still gotta try that one.

This. I had it a few times before I ever created an untappd and haven’t had it since I’ve been on untappd. All of them are locked up in old money cellars.

I have a B1 and I don't want to trade it for multiples of less rare lambic. Tough call on this one as you are probably best finding someone to share it with you at a tasting than trading for one.

Out of curiosity, what types of beers do you put it alongside with regard to rarity/what you would in theory trade it away for?

From what I've seen it'd be around Crianza level. So higher than 99 Screen Print or Zenne b1.... lower than Eszett or J&J Rose.

I have one I'm not looking to trade. Agree with the comments about more likely to find someone willing to open one. I probably wouldn't trade it other than if it involved another lambic I want to try but haven't (Zwanze 08, cantillon riesling?) or something that I really like and want to try again (lambic jaune 2014, cantillon chardonnay). All those I'd expect could pull more than a b1 50n, so it's more likely that I'll just drink it as I really like it.

Love B1. Imo it is better than all those above you mentioned. It seems there are far fewer of these floating around for sale or trade when compared with other older lambic like Blauw, Rose, JCN, ect. I certainly wouldn’t trade any of my bottles for a package of more abundant lambic. In fact, not sure of anything that I would want to trade one for at this moment, as it is that good.
