Tickets on sale this week.

Who's going and which day (if not both)?

In order to save my life from my wife I may opt for a relaxed Friday rather than a hysteric Saturday.

Post info on tap takeovers or interesting whatnots as they become available (pretty please, and thank you).

Cheers!

I'll be getting tickets for Saturday though both days would be nice. I haven't been to this one yet though. Any info on which day is typically best to attend?

I have a friend getting married on Saturday in Cleveland and am trying to decide whether or not to just declare war on my liver that weekend. Had a great time last year and since I'll be living in Ann Arbor by then it seems like I should just go Friday and worry about the consequences later.

I'll also second Friday being super chill. Didn't miss any beers I was interested in, food lines were short, and felt like there was a ton of space to walk around.

It's not that Friday is less busy and more relaxed (although that is a huge plus).... it's that Friday evening isn't blazing balls hot like Saturday afternoon typically is. I much prefer to drink while not covered in sweat standing butts to nuts with other people also drenched in sweat. Just a personal preference I suppose.

Long story short, we prefer Friday.

Well scratch Saturday, I'll be there Friday.
Dont know how i didnt read that in the OP.

bumping this from the absolute dead. got my start date for the new job--conveniently the 28th, so will be going friday (and then to a wedding in cleveland saturday, yikes). who's going friday? where the hell is the beer list? is livery gonna bring back their awesome beers? is bells gonna throw a tantrum and then come anyways?

is livery gonna bring back their awesome beers?

With both Steve and Sawyer now gone from the Livery, I am not sure where that leaves the sour program. I was told that the sours they brought last year were ones that Steve had brewed before he left for New Holland.

The Pure MI beers are all made with 100% Michigan grown ingredients. MI-grown barley malted by Michigan Malt Co., hops from Hophead Farms, Detroit water (best in the world), Michigan fruits in the fruit beers, and a native lager yeast strain harvested from the UP!

Also, the Raspberry Eisbock is very very limited. Being this is a two-day event, we are splitting a 1/6 barrel between the two days. It will be tapped during the Enthusiast Hour each day, and we may require 2 tokens or a smaller pour, as it's costing the Guild quite a bit of money for one beer.

We'll be next to Dragonmead in a tent by the river down in the back 40 of the park. See you all there!

If anyone's been wondering what we're bringing to Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Fest this weekend in Ypsi... one word for yous: SOURS.

Maybe more words for yous later...

It was their BA Maillot Rouge (Barrel Aged Biere de Garde w/ Raspberries) that I thought stole the show. They also had Funkalicious, so they're different beers.
i really liked both of them, but preferred funkalicious slightly. also, for anyone in the area, ashley's is having some good stuff on thursday as a pre-festival thing: link here.

oh wow the Livery tap looks great. just wrote a quick list of things i want to get to. might have to get more tokens provided im still standing at the end of them. Winter knocked me on my ass, literally once. that was the ices fault though. Any small breweries anyone recommends checking out?

If you use all your tokens you're doing it wrong. I have a ziplock bag stuff full of tokens from previous festivals. If you think you need more come find me and I will give you some.

I don't understand.
Are you not giving them tokens for each beer sampled?

I always give mine, and tend to go through all that is allotted me each fest.
Too many good beers to try not to.

I've had the people at Greenbush push me away from giving them tokens. Kunhnenn never takes them. It's more of a legal thing so they can dispense and serve beer than a "monetary" exchange. I have never once gone through all my tokens and it's not for lack of trying. Most of the people want to pour you a beer and get you out of the way to pour the next neckbeard his schwill.

should i just listen for the guy with the jingly pockets?
i usually get 2 beers per token most times. Also find a ton on the ground... just have to watch out for the poo token.

Never been pushed away by the fine folks at GB, but they've also never asked me to drop one in. I just do, typically when their back is turned and they are getting me my Delusion.
At the Winter fest Kuhnhenn was hit and miss. They wanted 3 for KBE, I didn't see that sign and gave one. But a bud had one of their staff make sure he dropped in 3. Hey, #kuhnhenn. ;)

If anyone is going to be there tonight send me a note. Cheers!

Holy f... I will never be going to the Saturday version of this again. Yesterday was the best and easiest time I've had at the summer version of the MI brewer's guild fests in all the years I've gone.
Great seeing a few TB faces out there. :)

JoeStepOner If you need tokens find me. I'll be wearing an orange plaid shirt with a tigers hat. So basically look for the only guy without a pretzel necklace and non beer related shirt. I should stand out like a sore thumb.

Yesterday was perfect. Tried about 40 and never bought extra tokens. I gave 2 for KBE and one for rasp wild one

Best beers of the day?

All of the night furys except for mint chocolate
Shorts whiskey sour and bourbon evil urges
Brewery vivant Paris
Livery Funkalicious
Kbe and raspberry wild one obviously
Pike51 Chicago drive by
BA terminator x

You do mean KRE, Jobu ?

Dragontrax was awesome.
Wild one was as well.

Only thing that irked me was ODd Sides having a badass list and only half were available as they had to wait for something to blow first. Dafuq? C'mon man!
Also, too many big stouts were ice cold. Ain't nobody got time for that.
