Hey, it's not all bad!
Having never played this, do you get anything for scoring more than 13 runs? (Besides one of booby prizes)
Did I do good?
I'd hope those Rangers are better than my New York Rangers. Shudder.
That's the fun part - when a team is sitting at 13 runs (or some other high score they haven't ticked), watching them cruise outside of the grid to 14 is just lovely.
So, this is going to be annoying to track.
Anyone know if there are websites that will let me pull stats by day (or put in a custom date range)? Doesn't seem like baseball ref has this... Just trying to set up something so I don't have to manually input scores after each day.
Here's where I'll be tracking some of the booby prizes. I probably already screwed up somehow (because it's super complicated getting my brain through this logic ~30 times "STL scored 4 runs, so that means I put something on the Mets line today..."
If it’s going to be a pain in the ass maybe come up with something else for those 3 boxes? It’s making my head hurt thinking about how you would have to track this.
You don't need to rub it in
But yeah I vote for coming up with something easier to track. Most total runs given up by then? Most total runs scored?
Well at least I get to enjoy watching Stanton and Judge crush home runs this season.
Looks like I have a serious chance at a last place box not sure if they will score over 5 runs all year
You get 3 boxes for the suggestion! Congrats!
Realistically, I was hoping I could pull data easily and just do some sorting/lookups in Excel. Doesn't seem to be the case.
So, let's cut that prize and revise to this (splitting the 3 into 2 & 1)
Overall Winner: 19 boxes
Last Place: 1 consolation box
1. Most runs allowed between now and the day the pool ends (including games that finish after the pool has been completed - I don't want to adjust for that) (2 boxes)
2. Team with the most zero ticks at the end of the pool (3 boxes)
3. Team with the most games of 14 or more runs (1 box)
4. Last team to tick zero (1 box)
5. Team that the winner was playing in the game they completed the 0-13 pool (1 box)
6. Participant who attends the most games between now and the end of the pool. Photographic evidence required of each game. MLB and Minor League games count (1 box)
If the overall winner takes one of these extra prizes, their share will be adjusted since we'll have one less shipper.
I am screwed on 6. I live 3+ hours from the nearest MLB team. No minors nearby either.
I know you already changed this, but I'm 100% certain the data you need for the original ones is available. Let me poke around a bit. I know Retrosheet will post everything you need for 2018 after the season is over; just not sure they do it in real time throughout the season, but I know there are other places that will. Just have to locate the right feed.
Also, last year I tried to go to every dollar beer night for the SC Spikes. Guess I have even more incentive to hit those games this year! Gonna have to remember to post evidence, though...
I just took a job at MikkellerNYC. The brewery is technically in the stadium so...I win?
Also, can I get a point for spring training game?
Also, feel free to ignore me.
Will be at Yankee game on Wednesday. You working?
I'll let you know when I'll be in
...probably won't be until June
Ugh, KC....I think I'm in contention for the first booby prize at least
wrong team? but i'm only working fri/sat for now
please do, see above for schedule
