I recently won a lottery at my local liquor store for a bottle of Rip Van Winkle. I don't drink bourbon and from what I understand this is a good one. I don't really want to waste it on myself if I won't appreciate it. I do enjoy beer though. Has anyone here ever traded beer for this? If so wondering what the trade was for. Trying to understand the beer for bourbon value of this that is fair for both parties.

Generally a tough call, I would start in the (shitty) ballpark of secondary values. ORVW goes for something like $300, so, yeah

Yea I was offered around that when I walked out the door but passed. I think the secondary market hurts the real people who enjoy the products. I am not looking to make a profit. That's why I am looking to trade it and wondering what has got done in the past.

Mostly depends on what beers you want, my trades for beer to bourbon have been all over the place. Some people have wanted huge quantities of shelf stuff and others have been satisfied with a handful of much harder stuff to source. Lmk if you want to trade for any PNW beers ie Fremont, Holy Mtn, DeGarde, Upright etc. Cheers!

It was for a bunch of random good beer/ bourbon bottles. I didn't enter hoping for bourbon, just worked out that way.

Depends on what beer you are looking for but should be an easy trade if you're not trying to "win"

I recently won the lottery at my local fruit stand. I'm allowed to take the apples but I really wanted the oranges. What do people usually get for apples? trying to understand the value of Red Delicious for anyone that has Valencia oranges...just so it's fair for both parties. Thanks!

If that's the case, Honeycrisp are the PVW23 of this analogy. Damn expensive apples

What are some bottles/styles you're looking for in particular? Its easier to go from there. Are you looking for quantity or quality (1:1 with a big beer or 6:1 for some HF/DG semi-limiteds?)
