    just kinda stabby is all.

If you are staying for anymore than a couple days I tell everyone to check out the VRBO's. Virtually the same price and sometimes cheaper than staying in a hotel downtown.

Seattle peeps I need some help! I will be out there next week and need to know the best beer bars, bottle shops and breweries that I must see. Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

Flying in Saturday evening, staying in Belltown (1st & Vine)... any place near there to pick up some decent bottles/cans so I can have a stash of stuff at where we're staying to consume after dealing w/ my wife's family basically every damn day for a week? :D

In addition to the aforementioned Pear and Vine Street Market, Delaurenti at the market (1st and Pike) has good stuff, you'll likely find Holy Mountain white label bottles there, Ale Apothecary, possibly shelf De Garde.

I will be in Seattle next week, Wednesday-Friday morning. Mid week, but looking to drank. Definitely Holy Mountain and Fremont.

Is it necessary to declare alcohol over the personal exemption for a car trip to Vancouver (i.e. are they likely to catch me if I don't?). I'm considering buying some beer in Seattle today, but if it slows the crossing, I'll pass.

Nope, not on the way in. I don't think I've ever been asked about alcohol on the way in. Usually weapons, and if I'm meeting anyone, how long is my stay, etc. On the way back, I've said "some beers" when they asked if I bought anything. They will usually ask about hard liquor.

And now I have like four liters of beer. Thanks, Obama.

My tasting group is totally useless. "Will you guys help me drink stuff if I bring back Holy Mountain etc?" "Not likely." What a waste.

Why won't they drink it? Holy Mountain not whale-ish enough for them? Not enough of an established pedigree?

They're too lazy to come out to my place. Not a knock on the beer.

Seattle is gorgeous, btw. Love coming here in summer.

yeah, we have longer summers now too, thanks to the liberal myth of climate change.

Love Standard but it's pretty far from where I live in the city. Also Stoup Citra IPA is a contender for dessert island beer for me.

Don't sleep on Urban Family. They're worth a visit.
