    As requested.

Anyone catching up on the FXX marathon? I saw a few episodes the other day, but not too much.

Haven't watched a new show in years. Has it improved much from the 13th - ...? Season slump?

Season 5-9 were the golden years with 7-8 being the best. It's been all downhill since then.

This marathon has been great for me. Wife was out of town Thursday thru Sunday and I've watched way too much. If they ever made a channel that was strictly Simpsons 24/7 I would be even more of a deadbeat than I am now.

Now go cut me a switch![IMG] [IMG]

  4. Have been killing my productivity when I get home with that marathon. Rules so much.
And let me go on record and say I'm tired of the nonsense that the Simpsons has been lame for over a decade. No. That show is still one of the best things on television.

I agree, the lost of Phil Hartman and his characters was a huge loss though. Nothing you can do about that.

    Some of my favorite quotes:

Homer: "Alcohol, the cause of, and solution to. . . all of life's problems."

"Lisa Simpson: I don't think Dad is properly portraying the Native American lifestyle

Marge Simpson: Yeah Indians don't sit around watching TV and drinking beer."

Bart: "I only lied because it was the easiest way to get what I wanted."

Homer: "I didn't lie, my mouth was writing fiction."

#sexcauldron was trending last night on Twitter. Despite how lame "trending" is, I laughed heartily.

Also, Burns is one of the best characters ever.

You tried and you failed. The lesson is, never try.

Anything that's hard to do isn't worth doing.

Trying is the first step towards failure.

And so and and so forth.

  7. Sex cauldron? I thought they closed that place down years ago. . .

Ladies and gentlemen, er, we’ve just lost the picture, but, uh, what we’ve seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft has been taken over — "conquered", if you will — by a master race of giant space ants. It’s difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain, there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

Homer and Bart run off to join the casino floor's frenzied excitement. A bouncer stops Bart at the door.

    Bouncer: No minors.
Bart: Yeah, but I really want --
Homer: Sorry, son. Although they seem strange to us, we must
respect the ways of the Indian.

Ever respectful, Homer walks into the main greeting hall, repeating "Hi-how-are-you" in the rhythm of a stereotypical war chant.

One of my all time favorite Simpsons dialogues:

Lisa: Mom has made so many sacrifices for us - its time we gave something up for her. I'll stop buying Malibu Stacy clothing.
Bart: And I'll take up smoking, then give that up.
Homer: Good for you son. Giving up smoking is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do. Have a dollar.
Lisa: But he didn't do anything!!
Homer: Didn't he Lisa? Didn't he?

Also, for years the voice mail on my cell phone was:

*disconnected tone* "The fingers you have used to dial are too fat. To obtain a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now"

Chief Wiggum: You have chosen 'no', meaning you have committed a crime, but don't want to confess. A paddy wagon is now speeding to your home. While you wait, why not buy a police cap or t-shirt? You have the right to remain fabulous!

This was our home voicemail message as well. Loved hearing the 3 or so seconds of silence, then a hangup, then a call back from the same number, then the message in a cautious tone. And it was my wife's idea to use it. Classic.
