April 10th, 2013?
That is the beauty of this website. Meandering discussion is permitted. There are other options if you are looking to simply Respect Beer™.
I would rather be happy that Pinthouse crowlers are coming Friday
Welcome to Talk Beer!
Picked up some Martin House Friday IPA... solid attempt at a juicy NE ipa. I think it just got released like a week ago despite being canned on Dec 21 though?
Yup! Austin got it Last week
Yup, Lamar location isn't obnoxious or chaotic. Only location I go to.
Apparently the Growler Room on Oltorf closed?
Yeah that location has been closed for a while now. I want to say as long ago as late 2015?
Shows you how often I cross the river nowadays, lol.
Drank 3 PHP Electric Jellyfish pints at Alamo Drafthouse last night...
... now trying to convince the wife to get a kegerator so I can have that on tap at all times.
nice...i didn't know they distro'd at all. once the consistency issues are dialed in...if they are ever dialed in...php fo life
I think it's only distro'd in Austin.
I can definitely order them. I believe they're with Brown? You should be able to special order a keg from Spec's. At least in Austin.
Do it. Buy a kegerator. But get a True or BevAir commercial that can hold a 1/2bbl. Not a converted unit with a bowed door. This way you can swap the tower out, add a 2nd faucet and hold 2 1/6bbls.
Just make one yourself ;-) Sadly I still don't have a working draft system installed back into it.
I will be making a short trip to Austin, TX this April, will be following this thread and probably asking for some recommendations as the day gets closer.
I went to their grand opening party today. Pretty mediocre. Most stuff I tried tasted like homebrew. Plus they had no idea how to run an opening party. Waited in line at least 40 minutes to get to the front of the line to get my beers. There was a decent crowd there but not so packed that the line should've moved that slowly. I guess people in that part of town that miss Rogness might like it? Their taproom is nice and the people working there were friendly. Just not for me I suppose.
Checked out the new ABW taproom the other day. Nice space and I like that they've got plenty of exclusive/seasonal drafts! Not everything is a hit though... they had this plum saison that was super medicinal Would also be nice to not be forced into buying a full glass.
If you ask nicely, they'll always give you a 1oz or so taste of any beer for free in my experience *shrug*
Round Rock rules. Just picked up 1/17 Yellow Rose, 4-pack of Double Unicycle and a lone can of BA Ten Fidy off the shelf.
I consider my night accomplished.
