First of all, since I have actually been asked: It stands for "Not Safe For Work."

While the point of TalkBeer.com is to be as "free and open" as possible, there comes a conflict: What if some of the content posted in a free and open environment actually erodes away the openness for certain groups of users?

A few points, as quoted from some of you guys:
    • "As much as I enjoy the recent surge in popularity of yoga pants, I don't think any of the pics of chicks threads belong here. It's not very inclusionary." ... "Sex, politics, or religion [are] three things that can devolve too quickly." - nodamagedone
    • NSFW really includes anything that can be grounds for a sexual harassment complaint in a typical office setting. This is a pretty wide range of content, well short of the line drawn for prime-time broadcast television. - A Facebook user
    • "I've been having a tough-ish time convincing friends to come over here because the impression is "it's just a bunch of memes", turning that into "it's just a bunch of memes and porn" seems unnecessary. Especially since 95% of the internet is porn already, why do we need even more porn?" - stupac2

See this thread for some discussion on the topic.

I've removed a few threads this morning in keeping with these guidelines. Of course we are trying to err on the side of "do not moderate," but we also want to make sure to include as many people as possible in what we're doing here.
