So, I knew this post was going to be tough after the past couple of weeks, but we sadly had to say goodbye to my girl, Wubby, this past Friday. She had some tumors growing on her tonsils, and she was too old to operate, and chemo would likely not have been enough on its own to resolve the problem.

I got Wub as a puppy when I was 21 years old, and she predates my wife, kids, and career. She's been by my side through my entire adult life post-college.

I'm gonna miss her real bad. She was the best dog.

Thanks for the support guys. She was the best. She was so smart, so easy to train. When I first moved out from home with her, we moved to a downtown area in an apartment, and she was so well trained that she'd walk around off leash and just jump into planters to drop a deuce and then come back to me. She was so kind to all of my kids from birth on up, and loved all our other dogs, she was a perfect top pup.

Shit sucks. She was amazing. Left a big hole in my whole family, top to bottom. I'm sure she's somewhere playing with Chewie, and begging somebody for snacks.

My lab went in for her yearly check up today. She will be 12 next month and just yesterday was running around the yard with our pit like she was a puppy. They found a mass on her back leg and are taking some x-rays to see if it's cancer. I've had her since she was 10 weeks. She's my baby. Hoping it's just something from her arthritis.

Unfortunately the news wasn't good. She has some form of bone cancer. It hasn't spread to her organs or anything yet, which is good. We will find out more on Wednesday after a specialist looks at the x-rays and determines what kind it is. Our vet said she is leaning toward one that is less aggressive based on what she sees on the x-rays. Not sure what that means in terms of how long she has, but we're hoping that it helps her live a little while longer.
